This was a great success. It was held for the first time in Douglas and thanks must be given to the staff of the National Centre for making us so welcome and for maintaining such a wonderful venue in such immaculate condition. Our coaches were headed by Steve Butler and James Vincent from Forza and aided by Ed Foster Sue Foster and Sarah Howe. Players from the Isle of Man Lancashire, Cheshire, Durham, Northumberland, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire took part ( but all the Midway were invited) at U15. We also had Some U16 trainee level 1 coaches observing and gaining experience in organising such a venture. Total number- 45 players. Cost £165
Players travelled by SeaCat on the Monday morning settled into the Hotel and were playing by 2pm.The accommodation was inclusive of breakfast and evening meal players just bought the lunch from the excellent sports centre café .In the evenings we strolled along the prom, went bowling or to the cinema. Tuesday and Wednesday were full days action packed coaching followed by a swim in the pool and after another full morning session on the Thursday, we all returned to Liverpool for a 5pm pickup. Verdict a great time was had by all and can we come again!
Well yes, we hope to repeat this in 2006 in the last of July for U15 yet again. Coaches keep in contact with Alison the North Midway secretary as we will pre book travel etc at Easter to save on costs.
